For twenty years in a row, Leskovac has been known as the world’s barbeque capital.

“ROŠTILJIJADA” (or the Grill Festival) with its influence opened up a new dimension of tourist attractions of Leskovac, Niš and the whole Republic of Serbia. This special event has its regular visitors who come here to experience the atmosphere, try the famous grill specialties and, of course, share their experience worldwide.

Day One: Niš

Land at the Niš Constantine the Great Airport.

Meet the tour guide/driver. Transfer to the selected hotel. Accommodation. Departure for a panoramic sightseeing tour of Niš, lasting about 2 hours. You will see and hear the story of King Milan Square and its Monument to the Liberators of Nis, erected in 1937. Also, there you will notice buildings of authentic facade and architecture of old Niš, preserved from oblivion… The tour continues on foot, over the fortress bridge (where you will hear the legend of the city and how it got its name) to the Niš Fortress, the Symbol – Monument of the city, located on the right side of the Nišava River bank. Touring the interior of one of the most preserved fortresses in the surrounding area, listening to a fascinating story hidden in its wall. Upon leaving the fort we will see the Banovina building, build from1882-1887, which was the governor’s palace during the announcement of the first World War. Next, the tour continues to the Skull Tower (Ćele Kula), a unique museum in the world and one of the most terrifying monuments of the Serbian history – you’ll see human skulls built in stone and hear the story of the country’s struggle for independence from the Ottoman Empire…

The trip continues to Mediana (only the exterior since the interior is under construction), archeologic site from the IV century, the residence of Roman Emperor Constantine, who was born in Niš (Naissus) in 274 A.D. Return to the city center, the National Theater and the Palace of Justice on the Square of Sindjelic. Next, going farther down the Nikola Pašić Street, passing the City Hall and big shopping mall Kalča, arriving to a monument dedicated to King Alexander Karageorgevich the First. Leasure time. At 16:00 departure for Leskovac. Free time in Leskovac to visit the barbecue restaurants where you can eat well and listen to the music from Southern Serbia. Return to Niš. Overnight stay.

Day two: Niš - Wine Cellar ,,Malča“

Breakfast. Leasure time for walking around the city and sightseeing (pedestrian street (Pobedina Street) – Kazandžijsko Sokače (Tinker’s Alley), drinking coffee, shopping). Optional – visiting the nearby Malča Village. Wine tasting. Optional – lunch. Return to Niš. In the evening, an individual program – or optional – dinner at one of the Niš restaurants with a rich national menu and live folk music. Overnight stay.

Day three: Niš - Đavolja Varoš (Devil’s Town) – Leskovac - Niš

Breakfast. Departure for Đavolja Varoš. The Devil’s Town Natural Monument, which was a candidate for the New Seven Wonders of the World, is located in the South of Serbia, 89 km southwest of Niš. This Natural Monument consists of two rare natural phenomena in the world: earthly figures – very specific and attractive forms of relief as well as two springs of water with high mineralization. These two rare phenomena together, make the Devil’s Town a real world wonder of nature. Lunch at an ethnic restaurant and a swim or relaxation in a pool with mineral water in Prolom Banja Spa. Afternoon – departure for Leskovac – barbeque. A tour of restaurants in the main street – barbeque restaurants where you can eat and listen to music. Return to Niš. Overnight stay.

Day four: Niš

Niš: Breakfast. Optional trip to Niška Banja Spa and Jelašnica Village (20km from Niš), lunch at an ethnic restaurant Brka. Return to Niš. Optional trip to Leskovac or leisure time. Overnight stay.

Day five: Niš

Leaving the hotel and leaving for the airport. End of program.
