The Uvac Canyon is one of the most beautiful natural sites in Serbia, 2543 hectares large. Located in the southwest of Serbia, between the Javor and Zlatar mountains, it has a high altitude of 902 to 1276 meters. Known for its magnificent meanders, and widely renowned for being one of the last known habitats of the almost extinct, endangered species – the griffon vulture, was declared Special Nature Reserve in 1971.

Day one

Belgrade – Zlatibor

Departure from Belgrade around 07:00 from the arranged meeting point (the exact time and place of departure will be known two days prior to the departure). Drive to Zlatibor with an optional visit to the Village Mušvete for a taste of Dalmatian prosciutto and wine. A visit to the Prosciutto shop Aćim, that produces and sells dried meat delicacies and wine. Degustation of Dalmatian prosciutto from Zlatibor, Dalmatian Pancetta, spicy salami (kulen) and wine. Continuing the journey to the Konačište Šargan accommodation and enjoying leisure time. Optional visit to the ethnic complex of Tarabić Brothers’ House, the Mecavnik Hill and Drvengrad (Wooden-Town). Next, going to the center of Zlatibor, leisure time. Back to the accommodation. Overnight stay.

Day two

Zlatibor – Sjenica – Uvac – Belgrade

Breakfast. Leaving the accommodation and continuing on through Zlatar to Sjenica, with a short visit to a lookout point near Sjenica. A brief introduction to Sjenica and continuing the trip to the Ranger Camp, at the entrance of the Natural Reserve Uvac River Canyon. Optional sightseeing boatride through the meanders of the Uvac river, with a chance to see the nests of the griffon vulture. Tour of the Ice Cave which can only be reached from the river side. Upon returning to the campsite, tasting some grill specialties with a chance of purchasing the famous Sjenica cheese. Optional, a 20-minute safari through the meadows and unpaved paths of the Zlatibor highlands. Arriving at the Viewpoint Prayer (Molitva), where you will have the opportunity to encounter huge vultures in flight and see the true beauty of the Uvac meanders. A jeep ride to the place of the bus boarding. Departure for Belgrade and arrival in the evening.
